As the general contractor for this great community project, Mills Construction has been charged with creating a 7,160 square-foot facility to house both the ambulance service and also serve as an education center for the Brookings Health System.
This new space will better serve the Brookings community, being closer in proximity to Brookings Hospital and the ER.
According to the Brookings Health System, “this structure will house all four advanced life support vehicles, the mass casualty vehicle and the mobile first-aid station trailer. It will also provide living quarters for ambulance staff working overnight on 24-hour shifts, including bedrooms, bathrooms and a kitchen. The education center will hold training sessions for Brookings Health System employees and host community classes like First Aid and CPR.”
