2018-2019 Huron High School Building Trade Home

Year of Build: 2018-2019 School Year

Builders FirstSource Sales Representative: Kent Schneider

Home Location: Huron High School, South Dakota

Project Overview: Teaming up with the Huron High School, Builders FirstSource is proud to play a role in helping the next generation of craftswomen and craftsmen find their passion for building.

The Huron Building Trade class allows juniors and seniors of Huron High School to experience and actively participate in the full build of a new construction home. Starting from the ground up, three classes of students working for multiple hours per day will bring a new home to life in the 2018-2019 school year.

For over 20 years, Builders FirstSource (formerly ProBuild and UBC) has been an active partner in providing building materials and support for the class. Working with course instructor Matt Busch, almost two-dozen homes have been crafted by Huron High School students.

The 2018-2019 home is unique in that often the homes will be pre-sold. For this year’s build, the home is being built as a spec home. In April of 2019 the home was sold and the remaining finishes were chosen custom by the purchaser.

For more information about the home and for information on the purchase of future Huron High School home builds, please contact Kent Schneider of Builders FirstSource in Huron.
